Tibetansk Buddha dekoration

UDGÅR

70x47cm. Stemningsfuld vægdekoration, lavet på lokta papir (ikke træ).

Handmade wall decoration from Nepal. With this intricate screen printing you can beautifully decorate your meditation and yoga space. For Loktapier no tree must be felled. Buddha Shakyamuni is the founder of Buddhism in this world and the main object of refuge for all Buddhists. He holds a begging bowl filled with three nectars, indicating that he has conquered the three `demons` - uncontrolled death, defiled body and mind, and delusions - and touches the ground with his right hand, indicating his power to subdue all negative forces. Handmade paper has been produced in Nepal for over 1,000 years. This is done by collecting the bark of the Daphne Cannabina or Daphne Papyracea bush, known locally as Lokta. After harvesting, the Lokta bush naturally regenerates and reaches full maturity again in six to seven years, preserving Nepal`s fragile forest ecology. The cooked bark is beaten with wooden beaters, creating a soft pulp that is poured over screen-printed wooden frames. The drying process takes place in the sun. The dried paper is then peeled off in the frame and further processed.
