Tetsubin cast iron teapots are traditionally favoured for their elegant design, heartiness and ability to retain heat for long periods of time. Heat is evenly distributed throughout the cast iron teapot warmer, to better extract the flavour of the tea. This also ensures that it stays hot for longer.

Use of cast iron teapot
When using the iron teapot for the first time, put 5-10 grams of tea into the tea filter, add water to the pot and cook for about 10 minutes to remove the peculiar smell of the new pot. After boiling, pour out the water in the pot and repeat 2-3 times until the water is clear. It is recommended that the new pot be used every day when first in use.
The suitable heat source for iron teapot is charcoal fire. Also, electric heaters, induction cookers and gas stoves can be used. For daily use, please fill to about 80% full of water to avoid overflow when boiling.
After the iron teapot is used for about 5 days, scarlet spots will appear on the inner wall, and white scale will appear in about 10 days. This is normal, as long as the water is not turbid, it will not affect drinking.
After each use, turn on a small fire to fully evaporate the water in the pot, and then wipe it with a dry soft cloth to keep the pot dry and do not leave water in the pot overnight, to reduce any rust forming in the kettle and enhances its lifespan.
The iron teapot is cast from pig iron and has the characteristic of rust. In fact, do not worry too much about the rust of that. Because the rust of the iron kettle is not harmful to human health, if you feel that the rust stains are unsightly, you can remove the rust with the following methods:
1. Derusting with alum: Fill the pot with water, add about 50 grams of alum, boil for 10 minutes, and then wipe the pot's inside repeatedly with a brush or a rag.
3. Descale with vinegar: Vinegar is the most commonly used scale & rust-removing item. If the iron kettle is with scale or rust, just pour some vinegar into the pot, add water to boil, and brush while boiling to quickly remove the rust (be carefull not to burn your hands!).
4. Dip a cut onion, freshly peeled potato or radish peel in a little salt and rub the rusty spot vigorously to easily remove the rust from the iron pot. You must keep the pot dry after use, and avoid hot pots with cold water.
